Inserting Timestamps

A Timestamp is a FrontPage component that displays the date, time, or both, when the page was either created or last revised. Timestamps are easy ways for visitors to tell if the Web site's been updated since their last visit.

Insert a Timestamp

Click the View menu, click Page, and then open the Web page you want to use.

Click where you want to place the timestamp.

Click the Insert menu' and then click Date And Time.

Click one of the display option buttons.

  • Date This Page Was Last Edited. Displays the date the page was last saved with FrontPage.

  • Date This Page Was Last Automatically Updated. Displays the date the page was last changed (manually in FrontPage or automatically by someone else in the Web site).

Click the Date Format list arrow, and then select a format.

If necessary, click the Time Format list arrow, and then select a format.

Click OK.

Did You Know?

You should avoid data format that use numbers for months. The expression 6/11/2004 means June 11 in some parts of the world and November 6 in others.
