Preparing to Install FrontPage 2003

System Requirements

Before you can install FrontPage, you need to make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements. You need to have a computer with the following minimum configuration:

  • An Intel Pentium 233-megahertz (MH) processor, Pentium III recommended.

  • 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or above recommended.

  • 180 MB of available hard disk space.

  • Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 (SP3) or later; Windows XP or later.

Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 has multiple server-related features that work with specific environments. Server configurations and options are available for:

  • FrontPage version 2002 without FrontPage Server Extensions

  • FrontPage 2002 with Server Extensions for FrontPage 2002

  • Microsoft SharePoint Team Services from Microsoft

  • Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services

If you are not sure that your computer meets the minimum requirements, you can check your computer for the information. In Microsoft Windows XP, you can check system information on your computer using the System Information accessory. Click the Start button on the taskbar, point to All Programs, point to System Tools, and then click System Information. You can also access the System Information accessory from within FrontPage. Click the Help menu, click About Microsoft Office FrontPage, and then click System Info. In the System Information window, click System Summary to find out the information you need about your computer.
