Generating Reports for a Web Site

Site reports can offer extensive information and records regarding your site's performance and its visitors. With FrontPage, you can generate reports on a wide variety of on-site activities.

  • View A Web Site Summary. Provides general data regarding your site's content, from the number of files to a list of hyperlinks on your site.

  • View Problems. Produces reports on maintenance problems, such as large pages (big files download slowly) or pages containing broken hyperlinks.

  • Manage Workflow. Reports that help you manage your workflow (to make sure pages aren't too long or are inconsistent in size) by showing the status of your Web pages. Files in your site can be categorized, assigned to different authors, or checked in and out using source control.

  • Monitor Web Site Usage. Reports that keep a record of items such as most popular pages and types of browsers used to visit your site.

Web Site Reports

Web site reports come in several different types:

  • The Site Summary report displays an overview of your site's vital statistics, from number of files to number of hyperlinks.

  • File reports the age of all files, who is assigned to them, when they were last edited, and when they first appeared on your site. It reports on: All Files, Recently Added Files, Recently Changed Files, and Older Files.

  • Shared Content reports page usage for Dynamic Web Templates, Shared Borders, Style Sheet Links, and Themes.

  • Problem reports on display-related problems on your site, such as component errors, files that are taking too long to download, or broken hyperlinks. It reports on: Unlinked Files, Slow Pages, Broken Hyperlinks, and Component Errors.

  • Workflow reports on file status and assignments in your site, including review status, the person the file is assigned to, and so on. It reports on: Review Status, Assigned To, Categories, Publish Status, and Checkout Status.

  • Usage reports on visits to your site, including page hits, browsers used by site visitors, etc. It reports on: Usage Summary, Monthly Summary, Weekly Summary, Daily Summary, Monthly Page Hits, Weekly Page Hits, Daily Page Hits, Visiting Users, Operating Systems, Browsers, Referring Domains, Referring URLs, and Search Strings.
