Modifying a Photo Gallery
After you create a Photo Gallery, you can make changes to it at any time. You can add or modify captions and ScreenTip descriptions for the pictures, or edit pictures properties. For readers who disable graphic downloads in their browsers, a caption is good way to convey information regarding your pictures. If you need to change a picture, the Photo Gallery allows you to rotate and crop pictures as well as change picture size. If you don't like your changes, you can restore the picture.
Add a Caption to a Picture in the Photo Gallery
| Click the View menu, click Page, and then open the Web page you want to use. |
| Double-click the photo gallery you want to modify. |
| Select the picture in which you want to add a caption. |
| Click the Use Font Formatting From Page option or the Override And Use Custom Font Formatting option. |
| Type the caption that you want to appear with the picture. |
| Enter the description text you want to appear when a user passes their mouse over the picture. |
| If you want, click the Layout tab, and then select another layout. |
| Click OK. |
Captions are not available for all layouts.
Text boxes for a Caption or Description are not available in the Montage Layout. |
Using SharePoint Services Picture Libraries
If you need more flexibility than the FrontPage Photo Gallery, you can try the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services picture library. You can store more pictures than the Photo Gallery and you can allow visitors to upload, and modify pictures using the Microsoft Picture Library program included with Microsoft Office 2003. To run SharePoint Services, you need a network server running Windows Server 2003 and SharePoint Services Web server. |
Edit Picture Properties in the Photo Gallery
| Click the View menu, click Page, and then open the Web page you want to use. |
| Double-click the photo gallery you want to modify. |
| Select the picture in which you want to edit. |
| Click Edit. |
| Use the commands to modify the picture. |
Picture Size.
Controls the picture width and height, and sets the default size.
Rotate Picture buttons.
Click the buttons to rotate or flip the picture.
Crop Picture button.
Click the button, resize the box, and then click the Crop button again.
Previous and Next button.
Moves backward and forward through all the pictures in the list.
Reset button.
Removes any changes you've made.
