Changing Graphic Stacking Order
Absolute positioning allows you to position graphics in a stacking order relative to each other. Stacking is the placement of objects one on top of another to overlay each other. You can create overlapping graphics by applying absolute positioning to each graphic you want to arrange, selecting individual graphics, and using the Bring Forward and Send Backward buttons on the Pictures toolbar. The stacking position is indicated by the z-value in the Position dialog box or the Layers task pane, where you can change it. A higher z-value appears on top. You can set positioned graphics in front of or behind both regular page content and each other. However, at different solutions, absolute elements might not appear exactly where you intended. Be sure to test the page.
Change Graphic Stacking Order
 | Click the View menu, click Page, and then open the Web page you want to use. |
 | Select the object or objects you want to arrange. |
 | Click the Position Absolutely button on the Pictures toolbar. |
 | Click the Bring Forward or Send Backward button on the Pictures toolbar. |

You can move or resize the positioning layer.
Click the edge of the layer (if necessary) to select it, and then drag the layer edge to move it or a handle to resize it. |
