Applying a Theme to a Web Page
While the templates provide a nice structure and underpinning for your site, they can sometimes look a little generic. Using Themes, motifs that visually unify your site, you can personalize your web with the use of color, banners, buttons, and bullets. Initially, a site made from a template will probably be adequate for your needs, but as you visit more sites and become more familiar with the Internet, you will notice tell tail indications of template-based sites. Themes are crucial in building an original, distinctive site. When your needs become more sophisticated, no template will suit all your needs. Using themes is the most accessible and user-friendly method to enhance your web.
Format a Web Page Using a Theme
| Click the Format menu' and then click Theme. |
| Select the pages in which you want to apply the theme. |
| Select a theme on the task pane. |
| Select the check boxes you want to further modify the theme. |
Vivid Colors.
Sharpens colors within the theme.
Active Graphics.
Adds a semi-3-D quality that cause the buttons and text to stand out.
Background Picture.
Places either a shade or an image as the background.

You can distribute themes.
FrontPage themes can be used in other Office programs. A theme consists of a folder and three files which is stored at C:\Program Files\Common Files\ Microsoft Shared\ Theme\theme name. You can copy these files to other computers. |
Customize a Theme
| Click the Format menu' and then click Theme. |
| Point to the theme you want to customize on the task pane. |
| Click the list arrow, and then click Customize. |
| Click Colors. |
| Click a color scheme on the Color Schemes tab or use the Color Wheel and Custom tabs to select your own set of colors. |
| Click OK. |
| Click Graphics. |
| Click the Item list arrow, and then click a graphic type. |
| Select the options you want from the Picture and Fonts tab to customize the graphic. |
| Click the Normal Graphics or Active Graphics option to make graphics more or less vivid. |
| Click OK. |
| Click Text, change the fonts used in the theme, and then click OK. |
| Click Save As, type a theme name, and then click OK. |
| Click OK to close the Customize Theme dialog box. |
| When you're done, click the Close button on the task pane. |
