How do you write and simulate XHTML Basic programs?

XHTML Basic documents are created with a text editor such as Wordpad or Notepad, or any word processor such as Microsoft Word or Word Perfect.

However, many of the new SDK’s (Software Development Kits) can accommodate XHTML Basic both for writing the programs as well as simulating them. If you have an SDK, such as Nokia’s Toolkit 4.0, you can write your program in either XHTML Basic, or WML and WMLScript, and after writing it in the toolkit, you can then simulate it on Nokia’s simulator included in the toolkit. You can also write your XHTML Basic program in a word processor, and still use the Nokia Toolkit’s Simulator, if you want to.

When writing your XHTML Basic programs you can use the file extensions, .xhtml, .html, or.htm. Most simulators or browsers will recognize these extensions.

When simulating your XHTML Basic documents you can also use a stand alone simulator such as Openwave’s Phone Simulator, which allows you to test your XHTML Basic programs written in a word processor.
